What kind of medicine should i take to reduce stomach cramps?

i have my period, but im having really bad stomach cramps like it goes to where you have to grasp your stomach and stuff, and its effecting my sleep, so i was just wondering what kind of pain relievers or medicine i should take to reduce the pain.
