A dog for my grandpa...?

This has to be your grandfather's decision. This is one thing that you can't do for him. I am sure being in his seventies he has aches and pains and slow moving. What about the days when he is ill, how will he be able to take this dog outside to go potty, clean up its messes. Who will train the dog. I know that you mean well by wanting to getting him a dog. It just seems like it might be more stressful for him caring for a dog. If he is in an istant living community, maybe they can contact some of the therapy dogs to come visit everyone during the week.
