How do I beat my friend in Madden?

He usually chooses the Cowboys but no matter who he chooses he beats me. I play as the Colts, Packers, Eagles or Vikings the majority of the time. And on his offense, no matter what defensive plays I use he always finds a way to get through, if I choose single man, two man, three man, four man, blitz, goal line! He almost always gets through. His offensive plays always vary as mine do. When he plays offense he has plenty of time to get the ball out and even if it is a far p, somehow they will manage to jump up and catch it. Mine almost never can catch far pes, let alone short. When I play offense I'll always switch up the plays, I do any type of p and my players can barely get open because he always has excellent coverage on my receivers and at the same time he has my quarterback rushing to get the p off because he always has someone after him, along with the excellent coverage. I run it after ping, he gets me stopped short. I do a screen p, he stops me short. No matter what I do he gets me, he always finds a way. It's like he is reading my mind (We play on Xbox Live, he isn't at my house). I can beat some of my friends and me and him always had close scores about two weeks ago, I beat him twice. Now I can't at all, please help. Now when I play with him I'm mad (not mad at him, just at the fact I can't beat him, no matter what I do) and I won't even talk. So please help me what am I doing? What can I do?
