Is gettin "mossed" southern football terminology?

Is gettin "mossed" football terminology only in the south. I play HS football in Mississippi n we say it all the time it's used when a widereceiver jumps high with a corner or safety covering him like glue and catches the p as the DB defends it (basically a catch with someone rite in his) then we ll say "damn he got mossed" these mosses can b pretty nasty especially when two DBz double team a receiver n gt mossed n itz also a nasty feeling gettin mossed im jus wondering cuz i ve never been to the northeast or west and i dont even kno if anybody uses it there or even in the east or west coast but thatz probly south too n also ive neva herd the word said on TV either I hope im not asking a dumb question i m jus curious
